Introducing the Leadership Triangle Regional 2023 Goodmon Fellows
The Leadership Triangle Regional Program offers Triangle residents the opportunity to build their local networks, connect on the most pressing issues facing our region, and become civically engaged. Graduates of the program have successfully completed four months of in-person sessions as well as a community engagement project that they design and lead.
This Spring, 21 Triangle leaders completed the Leadership Triangle Regional Program and graduated into the lifelong Goodmon Fellowship. They join 1100+ Goodmon Fellows who are leading and shaping the region.

Antoinetta Mosley, Chief Encouragement Officer, I Follow the Leader Antoinetta Mosley is a courage curator, keynote speaker, and diversity, equity, and inclusion strategist, who helps individuals and organizations reach their highest potential by teaching them the power of consistently cultivating courage. She is the Chief Encouragement Officer (CEO) at I Follow the Leader, a strategic consulting firm she launched in 2016 that specializes in culture-building strategy, initiatives, and education. As a Certified Diversity Professional (CDP)®), Antoinetta has worked on a range of projects for organizations of all sizes, including small to global nonprofits as well as Fortune 500 companies, and travels the country as a sought-after speaker on cultivating courage, Don’t DIY your DEI®, and courageous leadership.
Beth Berg, Assistant Communications Director, City of Raleigh Beth Berg has deep roots in the region, having grown up in Cary, attended Raleigh schools, and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill’s Hussman School of Journalism and Media. She spent the first 15 years of her career in New York City, where she developed marketing campaigns for brands such as Jif, Hershey’s, T.J. Maxx, and Tide and traveled around the world. Beth felt a calling to return to and serve the community that shaped her. She now serves as Assistant Communications Director for the City of Raleigh, where she shares the stories that make Raleigh such a fantastic place to live, work, and play. She lives in Durham with her husband and two boys, and you can find them hiking the trails of the Eno River or camping at Falls Lake. She volunteers with Durham Public Schools, the Ellerbe Creek Watershed Foundation, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Bobby Duke, Community Manager, 79°West Innovation Hub. Bobby Duke is the Community Manager of the 79°West Innovation Hub in Pittsboro, NC. Bobby has a background in science education and educational technology consulting. He spent five years developing relationships with educators and administrators in higher education before branching off into independent education consulting the past two and a half years, where he helped different educational startup companies meet their business development goals. He also has ten years of experience in a variety of different K-12 organizations. After working for himself the past few years, in some of the most disconnected times in our world’s history, Bobby sought out to find a role where he could take his skills and passions and spend his time reconnecting others. He now does that daily; not only with great resources and an amazing physical workspace, but more importantly, by focusing on building a true community of people to help everyone feel as connected as possible, as they chase their dreams and focus on their endeavors. Bobby currently resides in nearby Durham with his wonderful wife, their two awesome kiddos, and their rambunctious pup.

Chrissy Sailstad, COO, Triangle Family Services. Chrissy is the Chief Operating Officer at Triangle Family Services and is passionate about working in and with her community. Prior to working at TFS, she worked with Habitat for Humanity for 8 years both at Habitat Wake and Habitat Durham, also working with Habitat Orange. She worked in the ReStores before moving to the Habitat Wake affiliate as the Director of Business Process Management. She volunteers as a co-partner with Step Up Durham in the Step 2 Program and also serves on the Habitat for Humanity of Durham Finance Committee. She earned her undergraduate degree in Gender, Race, and Public Policy from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN and her MBA from Elon University. Chrissy lives in Durham with her husband and 2 children. She loves working with local organizations on organizational development, operating efficiencies, financial management, and creating an excellent and welcoming environment for staff.
Cydney Kramer, Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement Director, America Needs You. Cydney Kramer brings a wealth of experience in education and nonprofit work to the Triangle community, having spent the last decade in Charlotte, NC. Originally from Buffalo, NY, Cydney began her career as a middle school teacher and facilitator in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools before serving as Program Director of Heart Math Tutoring. She currently serves as Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement Director at America Needs You, a national nonprofit that offers career development and mentorship to first-generation college students. Cydney is committed to education and has a strong track record of building effective teams and implementing systems that improve outcomes. She holds a Nonprofit Essentials Certificate from Wake Forest University and has completed the Management Development Program hosted by the Harvard Business School Club of Charlotte. Cydney resides in Raleigh with her fiancé and dog, Lincoln.
Daniela Ceron, Program Associate, Triangle Community Foundation. Daniela is currently a Program Associate at Triangle Community Foundation where she provides support for capacity building programs and partnerships. She grew up in the Triad and now calls the Triangle home. Daniela is an alumna of Elon University and earned her Master’s in Social Work from UNC Chapel Hill in 2021. Prior to joining the Foundation, Daniela worked with Latino Migration Project to partner with local governments in creating inclusive practices and policies that better support immigrants and refugees. She also worked with people experiencing homelessness at Oak City Cares in Raleigh and spent some time in Alamance County advocating for early childhood education at Alamance Achieves.

Kim Glenn, President and Partner, moss+ross LLC. moss+ross, LLC is a strategic development consulting firm offering experienced and innovative counsel to North Carolina nonprofits, with an emphasis on fundraising, organizational capacity building, and search and interim staffing services. The firm specializes in providing customized solutions to meet the needs of small, medium, and large clients, including universities, colleges, independent schools, faith communities, museums, human service providers, and performing and fine arts organizations. Since its founding, moss+ross has worked with over 250 unique nonprofit clients. Kim joined moss+ross in 2011 following a career of working in nonprofit and higher education fundraising at Duke University, University of Louisville, and The Center for Creative Arts. She began her professional career in program audit with the Government Accountability Office, after graduating with honors from UNC Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler School of Business in 1988. Kim is past Chair of the Board of Directors for The Green Chair Project and has been a recent co-presenter with the moss+ross team at NC Center for Nonprofits and AFP conferences.
Kimberly Sanchez, Executive Director of Community Home Trust Kimberly Sanchez is an attorney, obtaining her law degree from the University of Miami, Florida. She worked as a housing and consumer attorney for 15 years with Legal Aid organizations in Florida and was CEO of Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida for five years before moving to North Carolina. Kimberly moved from Florida to North Carolina in 2020, to join Community Home Trust (CHT) as its Executive Director (ED). As ED Kimberly implements the mission of the organization and oversees operations. CHT is an affordable housing organization that receives the majority of its inventory through inclusionary zoning, primarily in the Town of Chapel Hill. Community Home Trust is a licensed real estate firm. CHT works closely with local governments to ensure program compliance and adequate subsidy allocations.
Larry Thomas, Founder and CEO of the Thomas Mentor Leadership Academy (TMLA). Their mission is to LOVE, lead, guide and mentor males between the ages of 9 and 18 who are being raised by a single parent or their grandparent(s). Larry has been mentoring young men for over 30 years. He is a nationally recognized leader and advocate for mentoring African American males. He obtained his professional knowledge and experience by attending national, regional, state and local mentoring conferences, trainings and workshops. His life experiences, challenges and training has enabled him to better relate to the young men he serves. Larry retired from the United States Army in 2011 as a First Sergeant with 26 years of honorable service to this great country. He was awarded numerous awards during his honorable military career including the Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Service in a combat zone. While in the military he mentored numerous soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines, both stateside and abroad. Larry is also a past Commander of VFW Post 2740 in Durham, North Carolina. In addition to mentoring, Larry is an ordained Minister and serves as the Chief of Staff at Apex First Baptist Church in Apex, North Carolina. Larry works daily at removing barriers and creating better opportunities for our young men.
Michelle Benham, Storytelling and Communications Consultant. Michelle is a compassionate and dependable leader committed to building more equity and belonging in our communities. She is an accomplished nonprofit leader, award-winning media producer, and communications expert. Her 15+ years of experience in marketing, media, and fundraising in the public and private sectors — including the federal government, higher ed, and nonprofits — have contributed to her passion for amplifying diverse voices through innovative storytelling strategies. Michelle served as Senior Director of Development and Communications for Durham-based nonprofit Forward Cities, Marketing Director for the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival (a program of the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University), and Earth Science Multimedia Producer at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. She earned an M.F.A. in Film and Media from American University’s Center for Environmental Filmmaking, and a B.S. in Ecology from the University of Georgia. Michelle has a deep affection for the Eno River and is a proud resident of Durham, where she lives with her husband and two children.
Nevin Daryani, Director of Operations, Armstrong McGuire and Associates. Nevin Daryani brings over 20 years of nonprofit experience in community development, evaluation, and operations. His work has spanned from Western to Eastern North Carolina, where he managed both short- and long-term projects in over 50 counties. He currently serves as the Director of Operations at Armstrong McGuire and Associates which supports over 200 nonprofits and foundations in leadership, organizational, and resource development. Prior to joining AM, he served as the Director of Embedded Operations with Communities In Schools of North Carolina. During his tenure there, he had the opportunity to work with foundations, community partners, and school districts across the state to advocate for educational excellence for all students. There he also served on CIS’s state and national diversity, equity, and inclusion teams and in 2021 was the recipient of the Linda Harrill Executive Leadership Award. A native North Carolinian, Nevin received a pair of degrees from Western Carolina University including a Master in Public Affairs with a focus on Nonprofit Management.
Nicole Coscolluela, Community Impact Associate, United Way of the Greater Triangle. As the Community Impact Associate at United Way of the Greater Triangle, Nicole helps to manage the grantmaking processes and strategies within UWGT’s formal funding pillars. Previously, she managed the State of NC’s grant program for science museums and coordinated a federally-funded community history project on Rocky Mount Mills at UNC-Chapel Hill in collaboration with Capitol Broadcasting Corporation. Originally from Northern NJ, Nicole has called the Triangle home for nearly 10 years. Nicole earned her BA in Archaeology and Classics at Johns Hopkins University; MSc in Human Osteoarchaeology at The University of Edinburgh; and MA in Public History with a Digital Humanities Certificate at North Carolina State University. Nicole lives in Durham on an urban homestead with her 3 dogs, 4 chickens, 3 snakes, 3 geckos, 1 rabbit, 1 tarantula, and beehives.
Paul Roithmayr. Founder and Managing Principal, Same Page Solutions, LLC. In 2008, Paul established Same Page Solutions (SPS), an organization, team, and leadership development consulting service provider. Since then, SPS has been working with organizational leaders to create value, grow, optimize, and adapt. Prior to SPS, Paul served as VP of Organization Development (OD) and Training at Gemstar-TV Guide, Director of OD and Training at Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation, and in various domestic and international roles at Intel Corporation. Earlier in his career, Paul contributed to basic and applied research in the areas of aircrew performance, airline accidents, and the high-technology market. Paul holds a Master of Arts degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology (with a certificate of specialization in OD and Leadership) from the University of West Florida and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. Paul recently moved to Hillsborough, NC, and lives there with his family.
Penny Carroll, Professor, NC Central University. Penny Carroll’s qualified achievements in social work practice, public health, and community partnerships span over 20 years. As a professor at NC Central University, Department of Social Work, she empowers undergraduate and graduate students to reach their highest academic potential far beyond the walls of the classroom. Her innovative teaching style inspires students to be authentic leaders while discovering unique utilization of digital technology that enhances their reach and scope of the social work profession. An agent of change and promoter of social advocacy, Penny has created a template of modern digital technology adaptation that educates and builds a capacity of transformative instruction for social action. Penny holds a Masters Degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University and is a PhD Candidate, Organizational and Education Leadership at Carolina University.
Tim Scales, Executive Director, American Underground. Tim Scales is the Executive Director of the American Underground, a coworking space for innovators, creators, and changemakers in downtown Durham. He previously served as AU’s Director of Growth, and before that was an AU member with his civic tech startup CivicRise. Prior to his startups career, he spent a decade working in the arts sector as a theater producer.
Titilayo Somorin, DEI Strategist|Speaker|Facilitator|Grief Advocate. Since 2018, Titilayo has championed Equity and Inclusion through facilitating multiple workshops to include- Microaggressions in the Workplace, Managing Diverse Teams, and provided strategic consultation on process development and improvement to multiple organizations in North Carolina and Maryland. Her work centers language and its impact on behavior in the workplace. She most recently served as the inaugural DEI+B Program Manager/ Coordinator with Bose Corporation. In addition to her equity work, Titilayo is a grief advocate who works tirelessly to remove the time limit and stigma surrounding grief while encouraging others to “grieve boldly.” A fierce supporter of HBCUs, Titilayo is a proud graduate of Bowie State University. Cultivating community is at the heart of her work as evidenced through her service to the NC ESSA Committee of Practitioners (Parent Rep- Wake Co), Volunteer, Boys and Girls Club of America (Teen Center of Raleigh), and the facilitation of pro bono workshops to aid small businesses in their equity journey. She lives in Raleigh with her husband and two children.
Dr. Valerie Anderson, Chief Impact Officer, Emily Krzyzewski Center and Principal, Anderson Insights Evaluation and Consulting, LLC. Dr. Valerie Anderson has served as a leader in nonprofit and community-based organizations focused on holistic youth development, strengthening education to career pipelines, and addressing systemic barriers to educational attainment and economic mobility for those furthest removed from opportunity. Dr. Anderson currently serves as Chief Impact Officer at the Emily K Center, a nonprofit educational access and opportunity organization in Durham, NC, and as HR Committee Chair of the board of NC Child, a statewide advocacy organization focused on ensuring all children have what they need to thrive. Dr. Anderson is Principal and Founder of Anderson Insights Evaluation and Consulting LLC, a firm dedicated to partnering with businesses and organizations actively working towards the advancement and liberation of communities of color through equitable and collaborative strategic and evaluative processes. Dr. Anderson obtained her B.A. in psychology from Yale University and her Ph.D. in developmental psychology from Duke University.
Virginia Knowlton Marcus, CEO, Disability Rights NC. Since September 2018, Virginia Knowlton Marcus has been the CEO of Disability Rights North Carolina (DRNC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit law firm headquartered in Raleigh that is exclusively dedicated to advancing the civil rights of people with all types of disabilities, of all ages, throughout North Carolina. Virginia is an attorney with lived experience who has been advocating for disability rights in multiple states, federally, and internationally for the past 25 years. Her prior positions include Executive Director at Disability Rights Maryland, Director of Legal Advocacy and Director of Public Policy at Disability Rights California, Executive Director at the Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Foundation, and Fellow with the California Assembly Ways & Means Committee. Virginia is a member of the National Disability Rights Network board of directors and legislative committee, chairperson of the NC Equal Justice Alliance, and member of the NC Equal Access to Justice Commission, NC Mental Health Block Grant Planning and Advisory Council, NC Council on Developmental Disabilities, and NC Traumatic Brain Injury Advisory Council. She is a Leadership North Carolina alumnus and was recently recognized as a North Carolina Leader in the Law. Virginia earned both her J.D. and B.A. in International Relations at the University of California, Davis. She is a certified yoga instructor active in the accessible yoga movement. She lives in Wake County with her husband, Michael, and dog, Rosie.
